Sterling Mack from Sports Tech Atlanta here, fresh off the SailGP races in LA. Let me tell you, it was a wild ride!
From a tech perspective, seeing those F50s ripping across the water was a masterclass in applied aerodynamics and hydrodynamics. The real-time data streaming they're pushing is insane – tracking every foil adjustment, wind speed, and boat position with pinpoint accuracy. It's a goldmine for anyone into performance analytics and sports technology.
The crowd was electric, and the proximity to the action was a game-changer. You could practically feel the spray. I'd love to see more augmented reality overlays during the live broadcast, giving fans a deeper dive into the boat's performance.
Overall, a thrilling event. SailGP is pushing the boundaries of sailing and sports tech, and I'm excited to see where they go next.
The next race is in San Francisco March 22 and 23rd.
